Rick Dack of Defending the Bible International holds a Bachelors of Science in history from the University of Northwestern (St. Paul) stressing apologetics and biblical archaeology. He is on the board of the Institute for Biblical Archaeology and Religion Analysis Service. He is an animator, media researcher and author. Dack has a burden for Christians and faith-seekers who are led away from their faith by media Bible myths  (films, tv series, liberal - academic opinion).

Rick desires to restore Hollywood to its once respectful stance towards faith - you could say it's "in his blood." Dack is related to Hollywood Golden Age Broadway producer George Abbott who worked with the Marx Brothers, Desi Arnaz, Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett. Actor Tom Ewell, who briefly married into the Abbott family, co-starred with Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch. He also appeared on the popular 1970's crime drama Baretta, the short-lived western sitcom Best of the West and TAXI.

Why Jesus?

Why are these classes essential today? Biblical illiteracy is growing.
Many professing Christians are living ungodly lives (as the world dictates).

Anti-Bible propaganda is seen, heard and taught “daily” on television, in theaters, in music and in the classroom. Twenty-first century Christians
need to be equipped to live godly lives by knowing, trusting and defending

 Noah's Ark
 David & Goliath

Why invite this ministry to your church and school
We offer easy-to-understand animated (3D and other-wise) Bible defense presentations for churches and schools that no other ministry nationally or internationally has yet to duplicate. We provide information on alternative programs, magazines, DVDs and other cutting-edge, pro-Bible materials. We encourage Christians to go into the entertainment industry with a no compromise yet respectful attitude.

Our ongoing burden for the believer, the seeker and  the skeptic
This ministry seeks to equip students, encourage congregations, inform seekers and expose Bible skeptic celebrities, liberal academics, networks and others who for whatever reason deny the historical, theological and archaeological merits of the Bible. Typically the skeptic is not rebellious for the sake of rebellion but has been hurt in the past by Christians, a presumed unanswered prayer, lifestyle choices or other issues that they choose not to reveal and hold inside. This inner turmoil or pain then turns into anger and they lash out preferably on a large scale with national or international exposure in a popular medium (music, television, movies, comedy).

The Bible first. Science second
We believe the Bible is worthy of a strong defense in that we always put scripture first and science second because we believe that archaeology is an imperfect science, ever-changing, yet is undoubtedly a valuable tool in support of the Bible. We believe that science and the Bible complement each other not, contradict each other, a view not held by secularists.

The ministry directors Hollywood family connections
Rick Dack' family has a long history in the New York theatre and in Hollywood. He is a relative of the late Broadway and Film Director George Abbott. Mr. Abbott worked with Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz (whom he introduced to each other via the film Too Many Girls), Vivian Vance, Eddie Albert and Gene Kelly. Jerry Lewis, Carol Burnett and Bebe Neuwirth (CHEERS, Frazier) have also worked in productions associated with Mr. Abbotts work. Actor Tom Ewell married briefly into the Abbott family. Ewell co-starred with Marilyn Monroe in the film The Seven Year Itch. Rick Dack wants to reclaim the once faith-friendly Hollywood for future generations.

Hollywood faith stories that need to be heard (the good, the bad and the ugly)
Did you know that the late Marilyn Monroe, Kurt Cobain, SNL comedian Chris Farley, comedian George Carlin, comedian Sam Kinison, Gene Roddenberry (creator of Star Trek franchise), Jeff Conaway (TAXI) and John Lennon at one point claimed to have come to Christ, were weekly church attenders, asked clergy basic questions that the clergy could not answer (this led to their atheism) or in their younger years lived with Christian families?

Did you know that Elvis Presley during one of his concerts contradicted a group of fans who held up a sign that said “Elvis you are the King” Elvis pointed to them and said, “no, Jesus Christ is the King?”

Did you know that members of the music groups Kansas, WASP, Alice Cooper, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Megadeth, The Birds, The Supremes, Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley's backup groups and Memphis Mafia, the Gatlin Brothers, Weird Al Yankovic, Glenn Campbell, Head East, Creed, Hootie & the Blowfish, Grand Funk Railroad, Roy Orbison have all dedicated their lives to Christ?

Did you know that Evel Knievel, Larry Fine of The Three Stooges, Demond Wilson (Sanford and Son), Donna Douglas (The Beverly Hillbillies), Keith Thibodeau (Little Ricky of I Love Lucy), Ricky Stanley (stepbrother of Elvis Presley), Lauren Chapin (Father Knows Best) and Rock Hudson on his deathbed dying of AIDS prayed to receive Christ?

More people need to hear these stories of faith. Invite this ministry and give us an opportunity to share them.

Scriptural support for what this ministry is doing

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. - Ephesians 5:11.

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. - 1 Peter 3:15.

Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. - Luke 1:1-4.

For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. - 2 Peter 1:16

A ministry of information and encouragement

Pastors, school teachers and other well-known Christian personalities typically do not have the time nor the apologetic (defense of the faith ) resources, we are here to assist them in any way that we can as a ministry of information and encouragement.

Probably the best Jesus film ever produced

Veteran British filmmaker Philip Saville directs the religious epic The Gospel of John| a production of the Canadian company Visual Bible International. This three-hour drama attempts to accurately follow the Gospel According to John written sometime during the first century. The gospel contains four segments: an introduction to the nature of Jesus Christ; testimony by disciples and the presence of miracles; the Last Supper and crucifixion; and the appearance of the risen Christ. Henry Ian Cusick ("LOST") plays Jesus and Christopher Plummer provides voice-over narration. The Gospel of John was shown in a special presentation at the 2003 Toronto Film Festival.

Trial, Death, Resurrection

The “Biographies of the Bible” classes emphasize...

A return to teaching scriptural basics (biographical, archaeological
and general theology).

The application of scripture to modern-day situations.

The training of Christians on how to defend their faith against current media/academic
Bible myths with scriptural science.

Faith-based tools of encouragement: Hollywood stories of faith, archaeological replicas,
information on pro-Bible entertainment alternatives (DVD's, music, comedians,
conservative academic organizations and more!).

Jim Caviezel on "The Passion of the Christ" and his faith

A depiction of the last twelve hours in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, on the day of his crucifixion in Jerusalem. The story opens in the Garden of Olives where Jesus has gone to pray after the Last Supper. Betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the controversial Jesus--who has performed 'miracles' and has publicly announced that he is 'the Son of God'--is arrested and taken back within the city walls of Jerusalem. There, the leaders of the Pharisees confront him with accusations of blasphemy; subsequently, his trial results with the leaders condemning him to his death.  Source: Youtube,

Scriptural Beliefs

  • We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and the New Testaments as verbally inspired of God, inerrant, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.

  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.

  • We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word, and deed.

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

  • We believe that all those (and only those) who by faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, are miraculously born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby, without benefit of any human merit, religious rite and ceremony, partake of Divine life and nature, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit for time and eternity.

  • We believe that, at the time of the new birth, the believer received the Holy Spirit and by Him is baptized into the body of Christ; is forever indwelt by the Holy Spirit as Guide and Comforter; and if yielded to Him, is empowered for service.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, the "Head of the Body, the Church."

  • We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for us.

  • We believe in "that blessed hope," the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.

  • We believe that Satan is a real being, a personal devil, that he, the enemy of God, the "father of lies," the great deceiver of mankind, is the instigator of all false systems of religion, and that, with him, all persistent followers of such will find their end in the lake of fire.
